David Comisar is Senior Vice President, CBS Affiliate Distribution at Paramount. Having held this position since 2016, he manages the business relationship between the CBS Television Network and its independently owned affiliate stations, including negotiation of affiliation agreements and the administration and distribution and operational agreements for 195 affiliated television stations. As part of the Paramount U.S. Distribution team, Comisar works closely with CBS Affiliate Relations ensuring the implementation and support of all Affiliate agreements. Comisar joined CBS in 1996 as Regional Director, CBS Affiliate Relations building relationships and serving the needs of affiliated television stations in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions, and later added the mid-Atlantic states to his territory. In 2002, he was elevated to Managing Group Director with oversight for half of all affiliate partnerships and in 2011 he was promoted to Vice President, CBS Affiliate Relations with responsibility for managing the Affiliate Relations business teams and working with stations across the country. Over the course of 20 years in various Affiliate Relations roles, Comisar developed many long-term relationships with affiliate station owners and group executives that continue to be an important part of his contribution to CBS today. Comisar is a veteran broadcaster, with roots in local television. Prior to joining CBS, he spent 17 years in local markets, beginning his broadcasting career in his hometown of Rochester, NY at the local ABC Affiliate and followed a path that provided experience in various production, programming, and marketing roles while working with local television stations in a variety of local markets. Comisar is a graduate of the State University of New York. He is married with four children and currently resides in Brookville, NY.
