Paramount Pictures Hits Mean Girls and Smile Make Their Exclusive Free Streaming Debuts on Pluto TV

Beginning September 1, Mean Girls (2024) and Smile will make their exclusive free streaming premieres on Pluto TV, giving audiences a new way to watch two recent Paramount Pictures hits at no cost. Both films will be available on demand, with Mean Girls joining the iconic 2004 original, which is already available on Pluto TV.

Mean Girls, based on the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical inspired by the original film, puts a new spin on Tina Fey’s modern classic. Twenty years after the original film introduced audiences to Cady Heron and Regina George, the 2024 film reimagined the story for a new generation with music at the center.

Angourie Rice stars as Cady Heron and Renée Rapp as Regina George. The cast also includes Auliʻi Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Christopher Briney, Avantika, Bebe Wood, Jenna Fischer, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm, Ashley Park, Tina Fey and Tim Meadows.

The Mean Girls celebration continues September 2, with a three-film marathon on the Pluto TV Comedy channel. Beginning at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, fans can watch Mean Girls (2004), Mean Girls (2024) and Mean Girls 2 back-to-back.

Smile, the 2022 film written and directed by Parker Finn, became the No. 1 original horror film of the year. In the film, Sosie Bacon stars as Dr. Rose Cotter, whose life takes a terrifying turn after she witnesses a bizarre and traumatic incident involving a patient. As increasingly frightening occurrences begin to consume her life, Rose is forced to confront her troubling past to escape a horrifying new reality.

Smile also stars Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn and Rob Morgan, and went on to expand into a franchise with Smile 2 in 2024.

Together, the two premieres give Pluto TV viewers free access to recent films from the Paramount Pictures portfolio, while adding to the platform’s lineup of recognizable movies available without a subscription.
