Ocala, FL Will Be Among One of Twelve Cities to Open the Digitally Re-mastered Film Beginning July 8, 2010

Paramount Pictures announced today that John Travolta's hometown of Ocala, FL will be among the first select cities nationwide to open the digitally re-mastered, sing-along version of "Grease" starting July 8 at Regal's Ocala 16 theaters.

Paramount selected Ocala based on the results of an online poll in which fans across the country could "demand" the musical open in their city. Out of more than 1,700 cities lobbying for the film, Ocala hit No. 1 on the poll last Wednesday. In addition to topping the online poll, tickets for the Friday 7 p.m. showing in Ocala are already sold-out.

"I am so thrilled and proud that Ocala is the #1 city on the 'Demand It list' for the 'Grease Sing-A-Long,' and excited that the 'Grease Sing-A-Long' will be coming to Ocala as a result! Thank you for the support, it means a lot to me and my family. It's an honor to reside in such a wonderful community, with such wonderful people," said John Travolta.

Other cities where the film will be playing include New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
