COMEDY CENTRAL Records release of Lewis Black's "Stark Raving Black" has been nominated for a Grammy® Award in the category of "Best Comedy Album."

Black was the recipient of COMEDY CENTRAL Records first Grammy® Award for Best Comedy Album for "The Carnegie Hall Performance" and was also nominated for "Luther Burbank Performing Arts Center Blues" and "Anticipation" CDs. Other prior acclamations for COMEDY CENTRAL Records include Stephen Colbert's Grammy win for "A Colbert Christmas - The Greatest Gift of All" and nominations ranging from Steven Wright's "I Still Have a Pony" to George Lopez' "America's Mexican."

As "America's Foremost Commentator on Everything," Lewis Black is a contributor on COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and has starred in five top-rated comedy specials for the network. In the past few years, he has also released two hugely popular books, toured all over the world and starred in many movies. Black's first four CDs are consistent sellers and have collectively sold over a half million copies and his show "Root Of All Evil" was a hit for two seasons on COMEDY CENTRAL.

Recorded at the historic Fillmore Theatre in Detroit, "Stark Raving Black" features Black serving up his biting social and political commentary on current events. Black guides his audience through a catalogue of the woes of the world such as the absurdities of aging (60 is NOT the new 40!) to the pitfalls of becoming a "mainstream" comedian to the insanity of Washington and Wall Street. He carefully controls his performance with the same mastery of craft as a musician does, from blistering to blithe, in the turn of a word.

Lewis Black is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as stand-up comedian, actor and author. Receiving critical acclaim, he performs over 200 nights a year to sold-out audiences throughout Europe, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.

He is one of few performers to sell out multiple, renowned theatres, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Brooks Atkinson Theatre, New York City Center and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Other previously released recordings by COMEDY CENTRAL Records include: Dane Cook's "I Did My Best - Greatest Hits," Bo Burnham's "Words, Words, Words," Doug Benson's "Hypocritical Oaf," Kevin Hart's "Seriously Funny," "The "Sarah Silverman Program Soundtrack Album," George Lopez' "Tall Dark and Chicano," Greg Giraldo's "Midlife Vices," Nick Swardson's "Seriously, Who Farted?," Dane Cook's "ISolated INcident," Cook's platinum-selling "Harmful If Swallowed" and double-platinum "Retaliation," and Mitch Hedberg's "Do You Believe in Gosh?," among others.
