Environment
Whether around the studio lot, on location for production or in our daily lives “ Green. It's paramount to us."

Paramount's green initiative encourages eco-friendly behavior and business practices throughout the company. The Green Action Team, a coalition of employees representing a range of departments, drives the effort and has spearheaded a variety of projects. Highlights include:
E-Waste & Cell Phone Recycling
In August 2011, employees turned in hundreds of items including old VCRs, telephones, computers, televisions & other electrical equipment totaling over 1,500 lbs. The safe recycling of these items prevented hazardous materials from entering our landfills. In celebration of Earth Day 2011, the Green Action Team set up a cell phone recycling drive on the lot. Collection bins were placed at the main studio gates and food service locations collecting dozens of old phones & chargers.
Day Without a Bag
In 2010 and 2011, Paramount participated in Heal the Bay's "Day Without a Bag," aimed at reducing single-use plastic bags and encouraging the use of reusable bags throughout the year. As part of this awareness effort, Paramount has given out nearly 2,000 reusable bags to employees.
Green Volunteering
In coordination with the Paramount Volunteer Crew, employee have spent over 900 volunteer hours in 2010-11 working on various environmentally-friendly projects, including mulching & harvesting at a community garden, cleaning up the beach and the LA River, and planting trees at local schools.
