Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel, Paramount
John Bagwell is Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel at Paramount. He has primary responsibility for, and serves as the lead attorney to, CBS Affiliate Distribution. In this role, he plays a key role in strategy development and oversees legal and contractual issues regarding the non-owned CBS Television Network affiliates across 195 U.S. television markets.
Bagwell also has primary responsibility for Federal Communications Commission and other broadcast regulatory matters impacting Paramount’s broadcast and cable networks and owned television station portfolio. In this capacity, Bagwell works closely with other senior Paramount executives in the development and implementation of policies and provides legal counsel to minimize legal risk while maximizing operations and revenue.
Prior to joining Paramount, Bagwell was a Member of Lerman Senter PLLC in Washington, DC where he provided legal counsel and strategic advice to a variety of commercial and noncommercial broadcast clients regarding regulatory, operational, and transaction related matters. Bagwell is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Virginia State Bar, and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
Prior to his legal career, Bagwell worked in the public relations and marketing field in Washington, DC.
Bagwell earned his J.D. from the College of William and Mary and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign.
Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Distribution, Business & Legal Affairs, Paramount
Rick Baker is Executive Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, Distribution, Business & Legal Affairs at Paramount. He oversees business & legal affairs for Paramount’s domestic distribution business with respect to Paramount’s linear and streaming portfolio, including all domestic broadcast and cable networks, P+, Pluto, BET+ and Noggin – and assumed this role in December 2019 following the merger between Viacom and CBS Corporation. Baker is responsible for guiding the development and execution of legal strategy in negotiating distribution agreements and managing partnerships to strengthen and evolve the distribution of Paramount’s linear and streaming portfolio. Baker has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the industry including as a Cablefax Top Lawyer and as a recipient of ACLU’s Pro Bono Award for his legal victory challenging a school district that refused to allow student journalists to publish a series of articles about the struggles of LGBTQ students in rural California.
Since 2017 and prior to the merger, Baker led business and legal affairs for Viacom’s domestic distribution business across linear, content licensing and direct-to-consumer businesses including Pluto.
Baker joined Viacom in 2011 after previously serving in executive positions at Lifetime Networks and as a litigation associate at Milbank Tweed. He received his JD from the UCLA School of Law and a BA in Political Science from Yale College. He resides in Katonah, NY with his husband and twin children.
Senior Vice President, Streaming Distribution & Business Development, Paramount
Mitch Carbullido is Senior Vice President, Streaming Distribution & Business Development at Paramount. Carbullido leads domestic distribution deals and partnerships for Paramount’s streaming portfolio with MVPDs, wireless providers, and other strategic partners. His responsibilities include Paramount’s flagship subscription streaming service Paramount+ and the leading free streaming service Pluto TV, as well as the popular subscription streaming services BET+ and Noggin.
Prior to his current position, Carbullido served on the Distribution & Business Development team at Viacom since 2013, first as Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs, and most recently in a hybrid business and legal role as Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs and co-head of Deal Structuring & Planning, handling MVPD, direct-to-consumer, and outbound SVOD licensing deals in both a business and legal capacity and overseeing the Deal Finance team. Before joining the company, Carbullido was an associate attorney in the Intellectual Property Transactions Group at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he worked on licensing, M&A and financing transactions in the media, entertainment, and technology sectors.
Carbullido is a member of the Television Academy and received a B.A. in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Creighton University and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where he was a Senior Editor on the Boston College Law Review. Originally born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Mitch now resides in New York City with his husband Louis.
Executive Vice President, U.S. Networks Distribution, Paramount
Mickey Carter is Executive Vice President, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. He has worked in a variety of capacities in the media industry, representing corporate interests as well as individual talent. In his current role, Carter represents the company’s portfolio of networks and streaming products on a variety of platforms (including CBS, Showtime, Comedy Central, BET, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount+). Before joining the CBS team in 2013, Carter served as Vice President of National Accounts at Fox News where he was responsible for revenue and subscriber growth of Fox News Channel on all platforms as well the launch of Fox Business Network. Carter began his cable television career at Time Warner Cable on the “buy” side where he negotiated content acquisition deals across the spectrum of entertainment and sports networks serving Time Warner’s national footprint of cable subscribers.
Prior to his career in cable television, Carter worked as an attorney and business executive in the music and sports industries. In professional sports, he served as an attorney and player-agent for several athletes, including baseball Hall-of-Famer Tony Gwynn and NFL legend Reggie White. Carter’s media career began in music as a talent representative for recording artists, songwriters and producers on several major labels and led him to join the business affairs team at Zomba Recording Corp. At Zomba, he negotiated artist deals and production agreements for their Jive Records label imprint (Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, *NSYNC, and R. Kelly) as well as their Verity Records gospel music label (Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, and Yolanda Adams).
After attending Harvard College on a U.S. Army R.O.T.C. scholarship and graduating from Notre Dame Law School, Carter began his professional career as an active-duty officer and attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps where he served as a criminal prosecutor and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Networks Distribution, Paramount
Patrick Cavanaugh is Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. Cavanaugh is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of broad financial experience and currently has oversight of all financial aspects of Paramount’s domestic affiliate revenue and distribution. His responsibilities include contract negotiations, strategic planning, financial operations and budgeting/forecasting across CBS owned-and-operated and affiliated stations, Paramount’s portfolio of basic cable networks and Showtime.
Prior to the merger of Viacom and CBS, Cavanaugh held similar responsibilities at CBS as Senior Vice President, Television Networks Distribution. Prior to joining CBS, Cavanaugh was Senior Vice President, Finance at Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network, the leading regional sports network in the country, where he was responsible for executing all finance, accounting and reporting activities. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the technology, information, communications and entertainment group of the assurance practice.
Cavanaugh received his B.S., Accountancy and B.S.B.A., Management Information Systems from Villanova University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Executive Vice President, U.S. Networks Distribution, Paramount
Josh Clark is Executive Vice President, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. He joined Paramount as part of the Viacom-CBS merger and has spent over 15 years in the entertainment industry negotiating and managing video partnerships for both content creators and distributors. Clark represents the company’s portfolio of networks and streaming products on a variety of platforms (including CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and Paramount+).
Clark previously served as Senior Vice President of Distribution and Business Development at Viacom where he oversaw linear, SVOD, EST and direct-to-consumer distribution partnerships. He also led the deal structuring and finance team which supported all U.S. distribution agreements.
Prior to joining Viacom, Clark served as Vice President of Programming at DISH, where he led industry-first deals that facilitated the launch of Sling TV. He also led teams focused on driving incremental revenue and operational efficiencies across DISH’s suite of television products and offerings.
Clark began his career in entertainment as a participant in General Electric’s Financial Management Program, where he worked at NBCUniversal, serving in various FP&A and accounting roles across NBC Sports, CNBC digital, and Universal Home Entertainment. Leveraging his financial background, he went on to serve in sales and business development roles with NBCU’s affiliate distribution group, representing their portfolio of linear and digital assets.
Clark graduated summa cum laude from University of Massachusetts at Amherst’s Isenberg School of Management majoring in finance. He also completed a minor in jazz performance, and still enjoys playing and recording music with friends and family.
Senior Vice President, CBS Affiliate Distribution, Paramount
David Comisar is Senior Vice President, CBS Affiliate Distribution at Paramount. Having held this position since 2016, he manages the business relationship between the CBS Television Network and its independently owned affiliate stations, including negotiation of affiliation agreements and the administration and distribution and operational agreements for 195 affiliated television stations. As part of the U.S. Networks Distribution team, Comisar works closely with CBS Affiliate Relations ensuring the implementation and support of all Affiliate agreements.
Comisar joined CBS in 1996 as Regional Director, CBS Affiliate Relations building relationships and serving the needs of affiliated television stations in the Midwest and Great Lakes regions, and later added the mid-Atlantic states to his territory. In 2002, he was elevated to Managing Group Director with oversight for half of all affiliate partnerships and in 2011 he was promoted to Vice President, CBS Affiliate Relations with responsibility for managing the Affiliate Relations business teams and working with stations across the country. Over the course of 20 years in various Affiliate Relations roles, Comisar developed many long-term relationships with affiliate station owners and group executives that continue to be an important part of his contribution to CBS today.
Comisar is a veteran broadcaster, with roots in local television. Prior to joining CBS, he spent 17 years in local markets, beginning his broadcasting career in his hometown of Rochester, NY at the local ABC Affiliate and followed a path that provided experience in various production, programming, and marketing roles while working with local television stations in a variety of local markets.
Comisar is a graduate of the State University of New York. He is married with four children and currently resides in Brookville, NY.
Executive Vice President, CBS Affiliate Relations, Paramount
Kurt Davis is Executive Vice President, CBS Affiliate Relations at Paramount. He joined CBS News in 2013 after more than two decades of experience in the broadcast industry. As Vice President for news services at CBS News, Davis oversaw CBS Newspath, the CBS News satellite newsgathering organization that provides editorial content and technical support to more than 200 affiliates in the U.S. and dozens of worldwide partners. As Vice President for News Services at CBS News, Davis oversaw CBS Newspath, the CBS News satellite newsgathering organization that provides editorial content and technical support to more than 200 affiliates in the U.S. and dozens of worldwide partners.
Prior to joining CBS, Davis spent ten years as Executive News Director at CBS Affiliate KENS-TV in San Antonio, Texas, overseeing all editorial content and setting short- and long-term strategies for the unit. He was previously manager of coverage and content at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia; news director at WDSU-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana; managing editor at KDFW-TV in Dallas, Texas; news director at WSET- TV in Lynchburg, Virginia; assistant news director at KATV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas; and weekend producer and senior producer at WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge.
Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from LSU in 1983. While at LSU, Davis was awarded an internship for minority students, which allowed him to work alongside proven professionals while continuing his education and helped launch his professional career. Davis was honored and inducted into the LSU Alumni Association's Hall of Distinction class of 2020 for his work on behalf of the university as well as his many accomplishments in the broadcasting industry.
Davis currently serves on LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication Board of Visitors, the Emma Bowen Foundation Board of Directors, and is a University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Journalism School Advisor. Davis and his wife, Angela, recently celebrated thirty-seven years of marriage. They have two children – Kelsey, a 2011 Manship School graduate, and Kyle, a 2014 graduate of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. While New York City is the family’s base camp, they all love Louisiana and still spend time in New Orleans.
Executive Vice President, Marketing, U.S. Networks Distribution, Paramount
Deena Demasi is Executive Vice President of Marketing, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. In her role, Demasi is responsible for overseeing strategic marketing and communications initiatives to drive subscription revenue and brand value for the company’s leading portfolio of media networks.
Demasi leads the partner marketing, trade marketing, and client experience teams in developing and implementing cross-brand campaigns to drive ratings and subscriber engagement around key franchises, promote distribution products, and maximize linear and next-generation distribution of Paramount content for consumers. Demasi also oversees the marketing strategy and execution for all carriage renewals with domestic distribution partners. Additionally, Demasi spearheads division culture, diversity & inclusion efforts, including internal communications, training, development, recruiting, onboarding and retention programs.
Prior to her appointment as Executive Vice President in 2017, Demasi served in a number of senior management positions on the Viacom Distribution and Business Development team, focused on marketing Viacom flagship channels and emerging networks. She has spearheaded content distribution initiatives for all core Paramount domestic networks during her tenure at the company.
Prior to joining Viacom in 2004, Demasi held multiple marketing and brand management roles at Earthlink, Turner Broadcasting and Reckitt Benckiser. She began her career with Octagon Marketing, working on international sporting events including the Olympic Games and World Cup soccer.
Demasi currently chairs the Board of Directors of the Cable Television Association of Marketers (CTAM). She serves on the Paramount Marketing Council and is the Executive Sponsor of Paramount’s employee resource group PROUD, which promotes and supports diversity and inclusion efforts across the company.
Demasi holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BA from Boston College. She lives in Larchmont, New York with her three daughters and coaches youth soccer in her spare time.
President, U.S. Networks Distribution, Paramount
Ray Hopkins is President of U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. He assumed this role in December 2019 following the close of the merger between Viacom and CBS Corporation. He reports to Paramount President and Chief Executive Officer Bob Bakish.
In this position, Hopkins is responsible for setting and executing the strategy for maximizing the value of Paramount’s cable, premium and broadcast television portfolio across satellite providers, cable operators, telco services, internet video providers and various other platforms. He oversees all distribution deals for a portfolio of iconic and leading brands including CBS, Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Paramount Network, VH1, CMT, TV Land, and many others. Hopkins is also responsible for all distribution deals for the CBS Television Network to more than 40 affiliated television station groups throughout the country.
Previously, Hopkins served as President of Television Networks Distribution for CBS since June 2013, responsible for securing new retransmission and affiliation agreements for CBS’ broadcast stations and cable networks, including the CBS Television Network, Showtime Networks, CBS Sports Network and Smithsonian Networks.
An industry veteran, Hopkins has more than 30 years of experience, including over eight years (2005-2013) as Chief Operating Officer of YES Network (Yankees Entertainment and Sports Network), where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s affiliate sales, legal, finance, business development, new media, marketing, human resources and communications departments.
Prior to joining the YES Network, Hopkins was EVP of Affiliate Sales and Marketing for Gemstar-TV Guide from 2002 to 2004. He came to Gemstar-TV Guide from FOX Cable Networks, where he had been SVP of Affiliate Sales and Marketing. While at FOX Cable Networks from 1999 to 2002, Hopkins managed subscriber growth and affiliate revenue for FOX Cable. He also oversaw retransmission consent deals for all FOX owned-and-operated stations. Hopkins began his career at CNBC when the cable news channel launched in 1989.
Hopkins holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gettysburg College and is also a graduate of the Executive Education Program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Hopkins serves on the board of the cable industry’s T. Howard Foundation.

Ken Kay serves as Executive Vice President, Distribution, Showtime Networks. Since joining Showtime Networks, Kay has served in various executive positions. Under his leadership, SNI continues to grow its revenue and subscriber base and expanded its distribution network. He reports to Paramount President of U.S Networks Distribution, Ray Hopkins and Chief Creative Officer, CBS Corporation and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Showtime Networks Inc. David Nevins.
In his position, Kay oversees the Showtime Network’s distribution team to maximize the network's distribution through cable, telco, over the Internet and direct-to-home satellite. Responsibilities include securing new affiliation agreements with existing partners and expanding distribution through new technologies and entrants. He is responsible for the distribution and affiliate marketing activities for Showtime Networks, which includes SHOWTIME®, THE MOVIE CHANNEL™ and FLIX®, as well as its multiplex channels. SNI also offers SHOWTIME HD™, THE MOVIE CHANNEL™ HD, SHOWTIME ON DEMAND®, THE MOVIE CHANNEL™ ON DEMAND, the SHOWTIME streaming service and the network's authentication service SHOWTIME ANYTIME®.
Kay previously served as Senior Vice President, Distribution where he managed Showtime’s expansion onto the emerging direct-to-home satellite and telco platforms. Kay also served as Vice President of National Accounts, Direct-To-Home for Showtime Networks and Vice President, Special Markets where he was responsible for expanding Showtime’s distribution in evolving commercial markets.
Prior to that, he was Vice President of Business Planning and Development helping to set the distribution and revenue strategy across all Showtime’s distribution channels and brands. Kay holds a B.S. from Saint John’s University and an M.B.A. from Adelphi University.
Executive Vice President, Business Development & Operations, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount
Brad Shipley is Executive Vice President of Business Development & Operations, U.S. Networks Distribution at Paramount. In his current position, Brad and his team are responsible for the negotiation of content distribution relationships, management of advanced advertising and measurement initiatives, as well as operations and delivery of Paramount’s content portfolio across multiple platforms (including MVPDs/vMVPDs, CBS Affiliates, Video On Demand, TV Everywhere, and other emerging distribution end-points). Additionally, Shipley is integrally involved with the distribution of Paramount+ and the management of Paramount’s business relationships with CBS Affiliate station owners, including the integration of local broadcast content into Paramount’s direct-to-consumer offerings. Shipley also serves on the senior staff for the Chairman & President of CBS Sports, advising on a variety of strategic and sports rights deals, operational issues, and all content distribution business.
Prior to Paramount, Shipley led content and strategic distribution deals at Fox’s Gemstar TV Guide and later at Lionsgate-CBS’ TV Guide/Pop. During that time, Shipley formed and executed distribution strategies across the media landscape, and negotiated deals with major U.S. distributors, including DirecTV, Time Warner, Charter, and Comcast. Prior to entering the media industry, Shipley served in strategic consulting and corporate finance roles at Arthur Andersen LLP and Intel Corporation. He received his degree in Finance and Marketing from New Mexico State University.
