HOLLYWOOD, CA (January 29, 2019) 

Paramount Television announced today that Debra Bergman has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Head of Physical Production for the division.

Bergman will report to Paramount Television President, Nicole Clemens, who today also announced the hiring of Robert West as Vice President of Production; and the promotion of Ken Basin to Executive Vice President of Business Affairs.

In Bergman’s new role, she will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of physical production.  She joined Paramount Television in 2017 as SVP, Production, where she was in charge of overseeing production for various TV series, including “Maniac,” “Berlin Station,” “Shantaram,” and Untitled Hilde Lysiak Project, among others. Prior to Paramount, Bergman served as SVP, Scripted Production for FremantleMedia North America, where she oversaw all production for the company’s scripted business. Bergman also previously worked as Head of Production at Xbox Entertainment Studios, which followed Sony Pictures, where she served as VP, Production, working on such feature films as Superbad, Captain Phillips, The Social Network, and three installments of the Spiderman franchise, among others.

Basin previously served as SVP of Business Affairs at Paramount Television, where he has been responsible for negotiating deals with talent, producers, and licensees in support of the company’s original television series. Prior to joining Paramount, Basin was Vice President, U.S. Business Affairs for Sony Pictures Television, where he served as the lead business affairs executive for the development and production of series such as “Sneaky Pete” (Amazon),“The Last Tycoon” (Amazon), and “The $100,000 Pyramid” (ABC), among others. Before that, Basin was co-Head of Business Affairs at Amazon Studios, where he supervised all aspects of deal-making, business strategy and business development in connection with Amazon’s slate of original programming, including television series and feature films.  Before joining Amazon, Basin was an associate at Greenberg Glusker Fields Claman & Machtinger, LLP, where he served as the Associate Chair of the law firm’s Entertainment Department.

Basin will report to David Goldman, President of Business Operations for Paramount Television.

West joins Paramount Television after several years working as a top line producer for scripted TV series, including the MTV series “Awkward,” which earned Best Cable TV Comedy at the People’s Choice Awards in 2013. Since then, he has been instrumental in producing “Rebel” for BET, “Black Lightning” for the CW, and numerous pilots for Comedy Central. Most recently, West produced the series “Family Reunion” for Netflix. In his new role, West will report to Bergman.
