Paramount Pictures today announced that Cameron Saunders has been named Executive Vice President, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In this newly created role, Saunders will supervise all aspects of the EMEA region, including the distribution and marketing of all theatrical releases for Paramount. He will report to Mark Viane, President of International Theatrical Distribution and Mary Daily, President of International Theatrical Marketing.
“We are delighted to welcome Cameron to the Paramount family in this new role,” said Viane and Daily. “He’s a smart and seasoned executive and will be an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to build our EMEA operations.”
Saunders, who most recently served as Managing Director of UK Theatrical for 20th Century Fox, will join Paramount on July 2 and will be based in the studio’s London office.
Saunders commented: “I’m excited about joining Paramount Pictures at such an exciting time, and better connecting the ever-expanding slate with audiences throughout the EMEA region.”
Saunders joined Fox in 2009 and has been responsible for the launch of the studio’s slate each year in the UK and Irish theaters. During the past five years of his tenure at Fox, the UK office delivered more than £1billion at the box office from such films as Deadpool, Kingsman, The Greatest Showman, Logan, The Boss Baby, War for The Planet of the Apes and The Revenant. He joined Fox from Channel 4, where he was Head of Marketing for E4, Film4, More4 and helped launch the 4Music channel.
Saunders also serves as Vice President of the Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund and Chairman of the John Brabourne Awards, a talent development program that provides financial assistance to individuals working behind the scenes in the Film and TV industries.
