Adam Goodman
Prior to joining Paramount, Goodman served as President of Production at DreamWorks Studios, where he oversaw all aspects of live action feature film development and production including literary acquisitions, budgeting and casting.
While at DreamWorks, Goodman shepherded the release of some of the company's most successful and critically acclaimed films including 2006's DREAMGIRLS directed by Bill Condon and starring Eddie Murphy, Beyonce Knowles, Jamie Foxx and Academy Award winner Jennifer Hudson. In 2007, Goodman oversaw NORBIT starring Eddie Murphy, MTV's BLADES OF GLORY starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder, DISTURBIA starring Shia LaBoeuf, and TRANSFORMERS directed by Michael Bay.
Each of these films opened #1 at the domestic box office and TRANSFORMERS alone grossed over $700 million worldwide. The year concluded with the Tim Burton-directed, Johnny Depp-starrer SWEENEY TODD, which was nominated for three Academy Awards and won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.
Goodman has overseen a variety of films for 2008 including the Ben Stiller-directed comedy TROPIC THUNDER, starring Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr.; the romantic comedy GHOST TOWN written and directed by David Koepp and starring Ricky Gervais, Greg Kinnear and Tea Leoni; and the action-thriller EAGLE EYE starring Shia LaBeouf and directed by D.J. Caruso.
For 2009, Goodman is spearheading production on Nickelodeon's HOTEL FOR DOGS starring Emma Roberts, TRANSFORMERS 2, the next in Michael Bay's action-adventure franchise, THE LOVELY BONES directed by Oscar-winner Peter Jackson and based on the Alice Sebold best-selling novel; the comedy I LOVE YOU MAN starring Jason Siegel and Paul Rudd; and the Jason Reitman-directed comedy/drama UP IN THE AIR starring George Clooney.
Goodman joined the DreamWorks production team in early 1996, quickly moving up the ladder to become a production executive only eight months later. He was named head of production in May 2004. During his tenure at DreamWorks, Goodman also managed production on the Will Ferrell comedies, OLD SCHOOL and ANCHORMAN, and the action-comedy GALAXY QUEST starring Tim Allen.
Goodman began his career in the entertainment industry while still in his teens in Highland Park, Illinois. Though still in high school, he landed a job as a production assistant for the Chicago-based Hughes Entertainment, where he worked on such John Hughes comedies as HOME ALONE and ONLY THE LONELY. He later attended college at New York University and American University, during which time he continued to work on films, including THE PELICAN BRIEF, BACKDRAFT, GET SHORTY and WATERWORLD.
