President, Worldwide Distribution and Marketing, Paramount Pictures


Megan Colligan is President of Worldwide Distribution and Marketing at Paramount Pictures, having previously served as President of Domestic Marketing and Distribution since 2011.

In her current role, Colligan spearheads the worldwide distribution and marketing efforts for Paramount’s most successful franchise properties, including “TRANSFORMERS,” “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY,” “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE,” “STAR TREK” and the “G.I. JOE” series of films. 

Colligan is currently at work on Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated new film “INTERSTELLAR” starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Ellen Burstyn, Michael Caine and John Lithgow; the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. biopic “SELMA,” directed by Ava DuVernay and produced by Oprah Winfrey and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment; Rupert Wyatt’s “THE GAMBLER” starring Mark Wahlberg; and Jason Reitman’s upcoming “MEN, WOMEN & CHILDREN.” 
2015 will see Colligan at work on “TERMINATOR: GENISYS,” a fifth “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE” film and “THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER.”

She most recently oversaw the studio's efforts on Michael Bay’s global blockbuster “TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION,” the smash hit “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES,” and the Academy Award®-nominated films “THE WOLF OF WALL STREET,” directed by Martin Scorsese, and “NEBRASKA,” directed by Alexander Payne, as well as Darren Aronofsky’s “NOAH,” “ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES,” “WORLD WAR Z,” J.J. Abrams’ “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS,” Michael Bay’s “PAIN & GAIN,” and “G.I. JOE: RETALIATION.” She previously worked on Robert Zemeckis’ “FLIGHT,” for which Denzel Washington earned an Academy Award® nomination for Best Actor, the 3D re-release of James Cameron’s epic, “TITANIC,” “PUSS IN BOOT,” “THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN,” “HUGO,” “YOUNG ADULT,” and Tom Cruise’s return as Ethan Hunt in “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL.”

Before that, Colligan, along with then Co-President of Marketing Josh Greenstein, oversaw the marketing campaigns for some of the industry’s most critically and commercially successful films, including the Academy Award®-winners “RANGO,” “THE FIGHTER” and “THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON,” the Academy Award®-nominated films “UP IN THE AIR” and “TRUE GRIT,” the worldwide blockbusters “TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN” and “TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON,” “SHUTTER ISLAND,” “SUPER 8,” “CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER,” “IRON MAN 2,” “STAR TREK,” “G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA,” the first two films in the “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” franchise, and DreamWorks’ “KUNG FU PANDA 2,” “MONSTERS VS. ALIENS,” “MEGAMIND,” “SHREK FOREVER AFTER” and “MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA. 

Colligan served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Paramount’s specialty unit, Paramount Vantage, where she supervised several award-winning releases, including the Academy Award®-winning documentary “AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH,” Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Golden Globe
Best Picture-winning and Academy Award®-nominated “BABEL,” and the Coen Brothers’ Academy Award® Best Picture winner, “NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.” 

 Prior to joining the Paramount team, Colligan served as Vice President at Fox Searchlight, where she spearheaded publicity campaigns for more than 20 films, including “KINSEY,” “NAPOLEON DYNAMITE,” “IN AMERICA” and “BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM.” During her tenure at Fox, she also managed the 2004 award campaign for “SIDEWAYS,” which received an Academy Award®
nomination for Best Picture.

 Colligan joined Fox Searchlight from Fenton Communications, where she was a media strategist for the 200 Shadow Conventions and worked for the Gore Campaign.  She also served as Publicity Director for Brill Media Holdings and Media Central.  She began her career as a publicist at Miramax Films.
