Megan Colligan

President, Worldwide Distribution and Marketing, Paramount Pictures

Megan Colligan is President of Worldwide Distribution and Marketing for Paramount Pictures, a position she has held since 2014, having previously served as Co-President of Domestic Marketing and Distribution.

In her current role, Colligan spearheads the domestic marketing and distribution efforts for Paramount’s most successful franchise properties, including “TRANSFORMERS,” “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE,” “STAR TREK,” “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES,” “ANCHORMAN,” “TERMINATOR,” “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” and the “G.I. JOE” series of films. She recently oversaw the campaigns for the Academy Award®-winning films “THE BIG SHORT” and “SELMA,” the Academy Award®-nominated “ANOMALISA,” “THE WOLF OF WALL STREET” and “NEBRASKA,” and the box office hits “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – ROGUE NATION,” “10 CLOVERFIELD LANE,” “INTERSTELLAR,” “NOAH” and “THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER.”

Previously as Co-President of Marketing, Colligan oversaw the marketing campaigns for some of the industry’s most critically and commercially successful films, including Academy Award®-winners “RANGO,” “THE FIGHTER” and “THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON,” Academy Award®-nominees “UP IN THE AIR” and “TRUE GRIT,” worldwide blockbusters “TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN” and “TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON,” “SHUTTER ISLAND,” “SUPER 8,” “CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER,” “IRON MAN 2,” “STAR TREK,” “G.I. JOE: THE RISE OF COBRA,” the first two films in the “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” franchise, and DreamWorks’ “KUNG FU PANDA 2,” “MONSTERS VS. ALIENS,” “MEGAMIND,” “SHREK FOREVER AFTER” and “MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA.”

Colligan previously served as Executive Vice President of Marketing for Paramount’s specialty unit, Paramount Vantage, where she supervised several award-winning releases, including the Academy Award®-winning documentary “AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH,” Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s Golden Globe-winning and Academy Award®-nominated “BABEL,” and Paul Thomas Anderson’s “THERE WILL BE BLOOD," starring Academy Award®-winner Daniel Day Lewis.

Prior to joining the Paramount team, Colligan served as Vice President at Fox Searchlight, spearheading publicity campaigns for more than 20 films including “KINSEY,” “NAPOLEON
DYNAMITE,” “IN AMERICA” and “BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM.” During her tenure at Fox, she also managed the 2004 award campaign for “SIDEWAYS,” which received an Academy Award® nomination for Best Picture.

Colligan joined Fox Searchlight from Fenton Communication, where she was a media strategist for the 200 Shadow Conventions and worked for the Gore Campaign. She also served as Publicity Director for Brill Media Holdings and Media Central. Early on, she was a Senior Account Executive at Fenton Communications. She began her career as a publicist at Miramax Films.

Colligan attended Harvard University, where she received a BA in American history and African American studies.
