President of Production, Paramount Film Group
Marc Evans currently serves as President of Production, Paramount Film Group, a position he has held since June 2010. Evans joined Paramount Pictures in August 2003 as Vice-President of Production before being promoted to Senior Vice President in 2006 and Executive Vice President in 2008.
While at Paramount, Evans has supervised production on some of the studio’s most critically and commercially successful films, working repeatedly with the film industry’s top filmmakers.
Under his leadership, Paramount has released “FLIGHT,” from director Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington; “STAR TREK,” “MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III” and “SUPER 8” from director J.J. Abrams; the award-winning “THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON” and “ZODIAC” from director David Fincher; “RANGO” and “THE WEATHER MAN” from director Gore Verbinski; and “HUGO” from Martin Scorsese.
Currently, Evans is supervising all movies in production at Paramount, including “JACK REACHER,” based on the novels by Lee Child, directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise; “NOT FADE AWAY,” from director David Chase; “FLIGHT,” directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington; “G.I. JOE: RETALIATION,” directed by John Chu and starring Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum; “STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS,” which reteams director J.J. Abrams with the cast from the 2009 “STAR TREK” film; “WORLD WAR Z,” directed by Marc Forster and starring Brad Pitt; “LABOR DAY,” a Jason Reitman film starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin; and Darren Aronofsky’s “NOAH,” starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connolly.
Other notable films that Evans has worked on include Sacha Baron Cohen’s “THE DICTATOR;” the “TRANSFORMERS” and “PARANORMAL ACTIVITY” franchises; David O. Russell’s award-winning “THE FIGHTER,” for which Christian Bale and Melissa Leo earned Academy Awards®; the Coen brothers’ Academy Award®-nominated “TRUE GRIT;” and Martin Scorsese’s “SHUTTER ISLAND,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio; the Academy Award®-winning “UP IN THE AIR,” starring George Clooney; and “G.I JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA.”
Prior to joining Paramount, Evans served as Executive Vice-President of Laura Ziskin Productions and Vice-President of Industry Entertainment.
Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Evans served as Program Director of the Chicago International Film Festival for five years. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago where he was Chairman of The Documentary Film Group (DOC Films), the nation’s oldest student run film group.
Evans is married to attorney Kirsten Albrecht. They have two children, Gideon and Harper.
