President, Home Media Distribution, Paramount Pictures

Hal Richardson is President of the Home Media Distribution division, which is responsible for distribution of product from the Paramount Motion Picture Group in every distribution window aside from theatrical distribution. Those distribution activities encompass DVD, Electronic Sell Through (EST), Pay-Per-View/Video On Demand (VOD), Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD), Pay Television and Free Television throughout the world. Richardson was previously President, Television and Digital Distribution for Paramount Pictures. He joined Paramount in February 2006.

Prior to Paramount, from 1995-2006, Richardson was Head of Television Distribution for DreamWorks SKG. From 1987-1995, Richardson held a variety of senior executive roles in television distribution at The Walt Disney Studios. From 1981-1987, Richardson held a number of executive positions in programming at Showtime Networks.

Richardson began his entertainment industry career in 1980 with Home Box Office (HBO). Prior to attending graduate school, Richardson was an Independent Secondary School Teacher of English and Film. Richardson holds an MBA and a B.A., Communications, both from Stanford University.
